I take Probiotics VSL#3 (bacteria can help retrain your immune system to attack your colon less), Boswellia (anti-inflammatory), and Manuka Honey (anti-inflammatory and healing properties). I was diagnosed with UC a few months ago and did research everyday. These 3 have helped me tremendously. I buy them all on Amazon. 2 potential cures would be immune tolerance therapy and Rev immune and they the clinical trials should be finished within 5 years.
@Nicole101101100 I like the way ppl think this can't be cured. I've had UC for 7 years and I'm convinced you can cure it. Don't give in the pharma firms and doctors that state it can't be.
I'm with you on this one and I have been blessed with the results the solution to this problem has given me. Raw vegetables (esp cruciferous like cabbage, brocolli, cauliflower etc) contain anti inflamatory nutrients. They are also high fibre and may painfully irritate a flaring system. The answer: a juicer. I stopped a horrid flare in days by juicing the above veggies and carrots and spinach in a mixed drink. It has been a miracle. The nurients absorb, soothe, minus the fibre
@cranz84 The juicing is an amazing treatment for UC. It stopped my first agonizing flare in it's tracks. When flaring or shortly after fibre is frightening. As you continue to improve from juicing, try adding a bit more fibre back to your diet slowly. Start with some soft fresh pasta and breads which aren't too crazily multigrained. Phasing fibre back in will help you form a solid stool. It sounds like your symptoms are improved but not enough fibre for a solid stool
Honest question- don't most people actually have pain and their symptoms get worse when eating raw food because it is high fibre? I was actually advised to go on a low fibre diet shortly after being diagnosed nearly 2 years ago, however I have since struggled to eat healthily since most fruit/veg are high fibre.
ummmmmmm one you cant cure UC it is in your DNA you will always have. Even if you remove the whole bowl you will never get rid of it. Did you know it also attacks your liver it makes it fail ( lovely) and it attacks other organs too. FOOD does not cure it I cant even believe you named this video that. Like really food removes it from your DNA? Food and deits can help prevent flair ups but IT DOES NOT cure it.
I have UC and raw food - smoothies, raw soups, etc help a lot, but too many dry nuts or too much oil in my food can trigger bleeding. White rice and steamed veggies are good.
@ferg520 I love this comment-Crohnsboy :)
