Community Project at Self Help Community Center - Siem Reap

Project Date: 1 - 11 May 2008

Nature of Project: Sharing performing arts skills and experiences with the under privileged children through fun and play.

Objective: Seeing smile and laugh...giving comfort through arts, leaving them with great memories, better self esteen, confidence and positivity.


Venue: Cambodia
Phnom Penh | Siem Reap

Artists and individuals: 9 (including performers from Firelfys and Wayang Aloes)

Cambodians Children we worked with: Over 500 street children, orphans, abused children and children under poverty situations.

I came to experience one very significant factor about the Cambodians during my 10 days stay. Despite their horrible past and the current poverty situation, the Cambodians are one of the most positive and hopeful people I have ever met! One can just sense the strength and the ever willingness to learn and progress for a better future.
