Well TakeYorTen, peer helping isn't for you then. People who take the class KNOW that it's EXPECTED to not gossip and share other peoples stories. Some people need a place to talk and know that other people are struggling, and that there's hope out there. If that is a "waste" then that's your opinion. How about you ask the people whos lives WERE changed. I'm sure they'd have a much different opinion.

@sonnykeach Your hurting thousands for the fact that this is NOT and educational class and your hurting thousands from something they could be learning. Whatever you say about "behind closed doors doesn't mean anything" When you go to court you take an oath not to tell anything that regards the case when you are a Juror, YET even adults break this rule. Just because you've made a promise to people doesn't mean others will do the same, its human nature and there is NOTHING you can do to disprove

This is THE most pathetic use of credits and time of the students. For the record there are counselors, personal problems are for them to know! Not to tell other students as many teens will tell everyone elses problems discussed in your "lectures" regardless if your not supposed to, "gossip" if you will. Second of all it is a waste of the schools money BIG TIME to have such a class! This is not education in any form, and if you help just one kid with his problems, your hurting THOUSANDS. STOP!

We respect your opinion but you make no sense. As peer helpers we help so much more people than you think. The only reason why you don't think so is because thse who visit us behind closed doors are kept confidential. The only ones being publicized are those who tell their story and want everyone to know, as with myself at red ribbon week.
And tell me, how are we hurting thousands?
