This continues my demo of all of the Microkorg's factory presets in high-quality audio. Keep in mind that Korg's presets are pretty pathetic compared to what the MS2000 engine inside this thing is really capable of doing. And no, I can't play piano. I'm a drummer, dammit!

  • For patch A62, do you know if there's any way of getting rid of that weird sound-like after the arpeggios or in between there's that funky noise. My band needs that sound for a song, and I want to see if I can get the arpeggio sound on its own.

  • Ooh, I'll try to play around with it and figure it out. Does anyone else know the answer, off-hand?

  • What's the thing hooked into it to the right? Drum machine?

  • That's a Tascam DR-1 digital recorder. I recorded the sound for this with it.

  • The MK sound editor is free software that presents all the MK's parameters on your computer screen, so you can quickly make adjustments to everything in real time, and save the new presets easily. The MK dials make editing on the synth itself difficult. You'll need a USB to MIDI cable. Just read the MK manual about "MIDI". Once you're plugged in and in MIDI mode, the editor will recognize your MK, and you can edit sounds faster and easier, and import other people's creations into your MK.

  • What exactly does the Mk sound editor do..?

For someone completely clueless with microkorgs or synthesizers..?

i have played a korg before and since longed for one due to how amazing it and due to my mildly huge obsession with trance/electronica..

  • The Micron is a great synth, with its own unique sound. I just like the MicroKorg's raw sound better, and you're right about easier editing on the MK. Be sure to download the MK Sound editor from the net so you can edit EVERY parameter from your computer! That's where the real power is. Also, keep your eyes on ebay: you can find a new or barely used one for at least $100 less, if you keep your eyes open there. Good luck!

  • That is preset A61 in the Retro category.

  • What is the preset @ 3:17 ?

  • Did you hear that Korg? I WANT MY FREAKIN' KICKBACK CHECK!!

Seriously, Korg as a company sucks, but I have to give credit where it's due. This synth ROCKS! Thanks for letting me know that my vid helped.
