In the midst of widespread poverty, fueled by economic inequality and rampant corruption, a new form of slavery - bridal slavery - has flourished in India. Women and young girls are sold for as little as $120 to men who often abuse them.

  • oppression and poverty is everywhere. even ini United States. But in india is worse because of the population. people like to blame religion but actually its the economy. People need to eat... atheist, sikh or christian, or muslim. if you dont get enough food. you will be freaking pissed off to the world.

In Islam? Are you okay? Islam is reilgion. how can you say Islam "beats" woman for wanting to learn.

Learn to seperate HUMANS from a REILGION.

    Islam states that

"Seeking Knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim, wheather male or female"

    Indonesia has 200 million muslim

    EPIC FAIL

  • @singhster89 exposing crimes and lecturing the ignorant masses around the globe is "slating" to you? Common now, get real!

  • The root of the problem is the unavailability of options. Only education can change that.

  • @youraveragemat

You need to read more books. Slavery was about making money cause a bunch of folks didn't want to do or pay others to do the work. Abusive lazy people. If a man got cash to partake in the purchase of another human being, they ain't poor. Maybe in spirit and sense, but not cash.

  • @kiru888

Took the words out of my mouth. Mistreatment of another is not justified by being in a state of low cash flow. These women are sold and abused. Make absolutely no sense to me. If you buy a car, do you kick it everyday even if it gets you from point a to point b. These women do work in the hot sun, raise children, and are beaten afterwards? How does that make any sense? They do the work the men are too lazy to do and then are punished? No correlation with economics here.

  • @nadoeloiskat

That would be "polyandry" practiced in some parts of the world.:) Though from some of the the women's testimonies in this vid...not sure what a woman would do with two men that can't cook or clean. >_<
