When I went to off to college, I thought I had it all. I was playing college basketball, I had good friends, but then I got the flu - or so I thought. Turned out it was invasive meningococcal disease or IMD. I was lucky to survive, even though my doctors had to amputate my limbs to let me live. Because of this, I'm encouraging other college and university students to get educated about meningits, and get their Menactra shot - the broadest protection available against IMD. Here's my story.
