This one was frowned upon by the purist but IMO I thought it to be one of Metheny's best from start to finish.

If you ever find out who it is, I'd love to know just because of my curious nature. Too bad my old pal Knuckles passed away not so long ago, he knew just about everything regarding Jazz.. It was he who turned me onto Smooth Jazz all those years ago. May he R.I.P.

The problem with so called jazz purists is that they think jazz is all about bad feelings. Jazz encompasses all of the emotional spectrum..and Pat was one of its modern pioneers...Is Earth Wind and Fire bad because they make you feel good to be alive? I think not.

Thursday is 5 years since my Dad passed and Pat was his favorite artist. He always said he wanted to be buried with this album...and I actually put in it his casket. This song will always be meaningful to me. If you actually read these Pat, thank you.
