Here's my attempt at generating some interest and hopefully positive results on the topic of 'rest-days' for all PSA tournaments. The concept stems from interviews conducted with players n coaches earlier on, which can be found on my channel. With such a demanding sport as Squash, I believe it to be only fair that our players are awarded at least one 'rest-day' during the course of all PSA tournaments. This will help them perform better and more consistently and may very well help in the prevention of injuries or better recoveries from current or recent ones. If you agree with this concept then kindly voice ur opinion and agreement through the comment section on this video... I am sure WE can make a difference... Cheers
Good thing to start such a discussion.
Nobody should force a professional athlete to take rest. They are professionals and have a scientific approach towards the season facing them. If they want a gladiatorial approach for earning as much prize money as possible, it's their own choice. However PSA rules to compute the rankings are such that they allow players to skip tournaments in a year and still maintain their ranking, if they do well in the tournaments they select to play.
