Glen Michael's Cartoon Cavalcade theme tune

Glen Michael's Cartoon Cavalcade" (later "Glen Michael's Cavalcade") began a record breaking run of 26 years in 1966. During this astonishing run, it is claimed that it was watched by over two billion viewers making it one of the most popular Scottish and British television shows in history.

it was only shown in the in Scottish tv and Grampian areas most Sundays for about 950 shows.

Glen's companions was Paladin the talking lamp and two dogs, Rudi and Rusti.

The readings of children's birthday cards that viewers had sent in, was also very popular, with Glen also sending birthday cards personally to those who could not have their cards read on air.

A legend. He done a couple of shows in my primary school when I was wee. It's a wee shame I never got his autograph. When I noticed he was signing them, I had already put all my pencils and paper away in the classroom and I couldn't go back to get them.

I actully email in when he was working at Saga FM, and he sent me a Signed., get this 1970;s photo card of him and rusty!

Quality tune we got put off the last bus from Glasgow for humming this when we were pissed and the full bus started doing it and ringing the bell the driver just stopped and put us all off

I grew up with this show, and he had the wee Dachshund dog there too. Also used to have the guy on from Calderpark Zoo..... Once saw Glen Michael outside STV at Cowcaddens and shouted over..."Haw Glen... I remember you fae Cartoon Cavalcade!!!"  Not very original, but what else could you say when meeting a childhood legend?

Just read his autobiography, had no idea he'd worked with Rikki Fulton and Jack Milroy. Legends the lot of them :-)

He was apparently in the movie Kick Ass, a very small part obviously. However it ended up on the cutting room floor.
