cant u just use the lasso tool and feather the edges?

also u can add another layer after the last one and do soft light

how about a tutorial for changing the way someone is facing, I know there are a lot of vids that show how to change a head but How can you alter the way it faces. Say you have a family photo and all but one person was facing the right way!

This is probably a really stupid question, but I'm a photoshop n00b and can't work the menu's at all. And my right little box thing dissapeared. The one where you do layers? Can someone help me get this back?
