Part One Of Four : -
APEC 2007 Business Summit - President George W Bush gives a speech to The Third Session of the APEC Business Summit at The Sydney Opera House, 7th. September in which Mr. Bush shows his deep friendship & admiration to Australia's Prime Minister John W Howard.
Mr. Howard was one of the main overseas allies that was with Mr. Bush in The US at the time of 911 & moved quickly to give his support to The US at one of her most vulnerable times in recent history.
In this stirring piece of Bush oratory The President reminds us all of the hard won freedoms that are "The Western Democracies" & to stand firm in the fight for economic & political progress in the free & oppressed world. It seems strange that so many opponents of Mr. Bush can not see the very simple equation that he constantly speaks about, which is of course that broad economic prosperity will always bring general political stability, in other words to re coin a well known phrase, "The idea is to please as many people for most of the time, which will lead to peace & prosperity for most of the time."
This I feel will go down as one of the swan song speeches for both leaders, as Mr.Bush will be out of office by late January 2009 & Mr. Howard looks like he is facing electoral annihilation in the upcoming General Election in Australia, which gives me a sense of irony as to my own thoughts on these matters, because I would truly love the idea of living in a benign dictatorship where these two great men could stay in office no matter what the people wanted, as sometimes the best people know what is best for their own nations & indeed the World !

  • Well it's refreshing to read a post that is candid & honest. I think no one who wishes to make an informed comment on anything can do so without the fullest information at their disposal & as someone who says they hate Mr.Bush you do seem to be prepared to give the man a fair go after hearing this speech in it's entirety.

I do wonder why you would "hate" the man as hate is a very strong emotion to have ?

  • OK piggadave, I see you have not logged on for a few hours & I have removed my replies to you & yours to me. I was not too heavy duty in my wording back on the replies you have not seen, at least I don't feel that way. It's just my way.

I've had a policy not to remove any comments on my vids, but now feel it better to do so from time to time.

im gone miss making fun of him

  • Bush got on power by christian republicans. What he does? Creates wars in which his daddy couldt finish off, and by the looks of things it must run in the family.

  • I think that something would be done about Kim if he was to attack American soil. I like your Mr Bush (I'm an Aussie) but I am sorry to say that we have had an election and have a new Prime Minister who is going to withdraw our Australian troops. This is regrettable in my view as I think the US needs all the support it can get.

  • I don't know saudh1, maybe you're close to the most stupid person ON the world.

  • I agree with you burgrman. Haters have already made up their minds and seem to walk around with cotton wool stuffed in their ears. This is aparent as they usually misquote the people they hate. I admire Mr Bush. I also admire Mr Howard. As an Australian I feel very warm inside listening to his speech and I realise America and Australia have strong ties.

  • "liedies and gentlemen..." LOL strange Aussie accent

  • John. Wake Up Your government has done 2 parts of F all You claim to have created a greatr number of fulltime jobs.
