*Continue Comic Effect*

Before: http://i35.tinypic.com/15gti6c.jpg

After: http://i34.tinypic.com/dpk9bl.jpg

*Step Five*

-Duplicate that layer and change the Blending Mode to Soft Light
-Then activate gray-scale layer
-Go to Filter-Artistic-Poster Edges: Depending on your photo setting will vary. I set all mine to 1. Click Okay.
-Then set the Blending Mode to Multiply.
-To lighten up the dark spots go to Image-Adjustments-Levels Move the White Slider until gray areas get brighter and you start to see more of the color. Mine was about 145

*Step Six*

-Lastly active the upper layer (the one we made our black selection).
-Load the layer as a selection by co-holding Control (Command)-Click on the layer
-Then click on Layer Mask icon. Make sure you are working on the layer mask itself and not the image.
-Go to Filter-Pixielate-Color Halftone. Radius will vary with different images. I set mine to 5. Click Okay.
-Now invert layer mask by holding Control (Command)-I; then click on the image and change Blending Mode to Overylay

ENJOY!

  • You are pretty AND smart! Ugh I'm in love.

  • Ay! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am so new to Photoshop, has CS3 for about a year and barely eager to learn how to use it. Thank you, thank you!

  • More power to you, but you've completely stolen a tutorial from Corey Baker. Not only is he more articulate, but it's HIS WORK. This is just fluff and fodder to get more hits for your own crafting with tiffany site. Why not just suggest that people go to Corey's site?

  • I learned a lot - thanks!
