In the intimacy of (VERY) dim lighting, the crowd listened to the vocal stylings of John Cocuzzi, who added spice and Latin flavor to a piano solo that is often heard quite solemn.

"Nature Boy" lyrics:
There was a boy, a very strange, enchanted boy.
They say he wandered very far, very far, over land and sea
A little shy and sad of eyes, but very wise was he.
And then one day, a magic day, he passed my way.
While we spoke of many things, fools and kings,
This he said to me:
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn
is just to love
and be loved
in return."
Words and music for "Nature Boy" are formally credited to Eden Ahbez, pub. 1947, although Yiddish songwriter Herman Yablakoff alleged the melody came from his song "Sveig Mein Härtz" ("Be Still My Heart"). His legal action was supposedly settled out of court. But the melody of "Nature Boy" can be heard in Antonín Dvořák's Piano Quintet No. 2 in A, Opus 81 (1887).
