this is wonderful!!!! I put mine in a 1/2 pint jar like shown in the video. it applies easily and if any is left on fingers, rub it in like a lotion. awesome! The next batch i make will have less lavender and tea tree oil. very easy to over do the essential oils. :-)

@Tokkitaco You know you're not INGESTING the sodium, right? And you're only putting on a tiny bit a day. It's not even as much sodium per day as one can of soda.

@Tokkitaco how is it worse than aluminum?

You can use applecidervinnegar, the smell of vinegar is gone in a minute, but they say an organic vegan diet, makes you odorless.

Doesn't the oil leave stains on your clothes?

Where did you get that ginormous vat of coconut oil! I need that!

Thank you for sharing your video. I am currently having an issue with sensitivities to deodorant. I am so glad I saw your video as you had a great suggestion to use arrowroot instead of corn starch. Since I have a coconut allergy and not a palm oil allergy, I found palm oil vegetable shortening in place of the coconut. I noticed that it took 8 tablespoons and it came out very nicely.

Just so all of you know in case your that ignorant, Baking Soda is Sodium Bicarbonate. Baking Soda has a TON of sodium in it because it is almost pure sodium! This recipe is just as bad if not worse for you than regular deodorant due to the insane amount of sodium.
how long does it last? Some natural ones from the store wear off about half way through the day. Does it work against sweat?

@mama2perfection It really depends on the person. My husband can put it on once and it will last for two days. I sweat more profusely, so usually once a day is appropriate unless I will be out and about, then I might apply twice. It is not an anti-perspirant, as that is not natural for your body, but it is a deodorant.

Also, why not just melt the coconut oil for a few seconds in the microwave? Seems like it would save a lot of unnecessary effort (and mess, apparently) in the mixing process. And coconut oil is a solid at room temp, so it will simply 'harden' back to its original state once all the components are thoroughly incorporated. Really no need to go through the hassle of mixing a solidified fat w/those powders.

@visceralanding I don't use a microwave because I prefer to avoid the unnatural processes it involves. Others have certainly melted the coconut oil, but it really changes the consistency. I personally don't recommend it because it will require you to add more cornstarch/baking soda and throw off the recipe proportions. It honestly takes just a few minutes to incorporate. I make a batch in 5 minutes.
