We must rethink our policy toward Afghanistan. Congressional oversight hearings on Afghanistan would facilitate a substantial public debate on this war. What's more, these hearings would coincide with President Obama's effort to craft policy that represents the diversity in public opinion and the wide array of tools at his disposal.

  • Al Qaeda only wishes they could do to the USA what the bankers have done. 9-11 was small potatoes to the bankers war on America. Bring all American troops home.

    After 7 years... hmmmmmmm.

  • naa wer is deutsch

  • Does anyone think that the world would be better if Al Gore was elected for two terms instead of Bush? I don't know...

  • i thought the whole idea of the US was to go into Afghanistan was to find Bin Larden a Man who is by now, most certainly dead. Now its turned into a Mission to control the entire country, show me any foreign invading military that has ever been able to control Afghanistan in the last 100yrs?The Taliban was formed in part by some of the left over Mujahideen from the war with the soviets yet is always portrayed by certain Media and Most Western countries as in invading force from Pakistan.Total Lie

  • The people of Afghanistan voted for the government of Afghanistan, which the U.S. is backing both. Could the people vote the Taliban into office? Not now. Although they may "side" with the Taliban, the Afghani support is just 27%.

  • The difference is that, in Columbia, the US was on the side AGAINST the FARC. In Afghanistan, the US is on the side of the equivalent of the FARC.

Also, I can't help but notice that heroin, obviously from Afghanistan, recently showed up in France, laced with anthrax.

That's the type of people the US is supporting.

  • Let's say it how it is, openly.

The war on terror was never waged for the benefit of the US but rather for the benefit of Israel. Going to war for Israel was over the line before George Bush came along. He used deception to get the US to do what almost all US citizens would not want us to do, if it was done openly.

But that pales in comparison to what Obama is doing. Going to war for the sole benefit of islamic heroin trafficers.

We need to put a stop to this.

  • Colombia fought a 40 year war with FARC, the exact same stuff was happing there that was happening in Afghanistan. A corrupt government, a corrupt army, a porous border, FARC used drug money to finance its operations and instead of hiding in the mountains, they were hiding in the jungle. Within the last 10 years FARC went from controlling 50% of Colombia to controlling less than 2%. Drug crops dropped 26%. Obviously this kind of enemy can be defeated, but it has to be by the locals.

  • Pacifism is not a bad thing, but being a bitch is. I dont think its right to allow a group to do whatever they like because people lack the nut sack to provide justice. We should give them the benefit of the doubt and give them some breathing room, if shit happens then we are justified to act.

  • Value the valor, social status, leadership potential and potency of the unused womb!

Increased the social status for non-mothers who refuse to bear the children who are destined to become the cannon fodder and chattel of the next generation of crusades and war --- refuse to bear the children who could possibly become the victims of a nuclear holocaust.

Negative population growth stops the cycle of violence and revenge as it alleviates the tensions of resource depletion, climate change.
