My favorite interpretation of this piece was by Gieseking, but it seems no one has that anymore. In his version, the middle part flows and ripples instead of thumping. Still Mr. Austbo captures much of what I love about this work - one of my favorite pieces of music. Thanks for posting this. (I'm favoriting it.)

This guy is amazing. What he brings out of this music by Grieg seems almost more than Grieg wrote into it. Who is he, and can we hear more of his playing?

As far as I know he's an internationally acclaimed pianist and professor, born in Norway, who made many recordings, I have only heard this one of Grieg's Lyric Pieces though which is on label RegisR from England. If you want to hear more of him I think some of his other cd.s are to be found on amazon.
