@kenzi23 The category of newly industrialized country (NIC) is a socioeconomic classification applied to several countries around the world by political scientists and economists.
NICs are countries whose economies have not yet reached First World status but have, in a macroeconomic sense, outpaced their developing counterparts. the philippines is one of the 9 countries around the world... south africa, mexico, china, brazil, india, malaysia, thailand and turkey!

wikipedia:The economy of the Philippines is the 14th largest economy in Asia and the 33rd largest economy in the world by purchasing power parity according to the International Monetary Fund in 2010. @Blavat666 please stop insulting the pilipino community, by doing so you only show how uncivilized and uneducated you are.
here's a proof that the country's economy is actually doing better than its neighbors... it came from economy watch a site that is well respected in giving facts and conclusion from research data.
Ginagawa nilang tanga at lalong tinatanga.
