James van Praagh lecture, 1 of 7

This is a series of videos I took of "psychic medium" James van Praagh at Book Revue in Huntington. Sorry about the quality. This wasn't from a video recorder, but a camera. I didn't have a tripod, and it was a pain holding the button down - the slightest jostle would cause recording to stop. Doh!

Personally, I think JVP is a fraud. He said a lot of touchy-feely crap (some of which contradicted itself). But, at the end, he did sign the book I (reluctantly) bought. The best part, was he signed it for James "The Amazing" Randi - the famous debunker of frauds and charlatans. I've since mailed the book to Randi. I hope it makes a nice addition to the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) library.

Every time I would see a "psychic" at a bookstore, or Sylvia Browne on Montel, it would bother me. But I understand it: these people sell books/increase ratings. The purveyors don't care if it's true or not, just that they sell. *sigh*

@rainwrap yes people are naive cold reading is powerful, when you see the big picture and how he failed so miserably most of the time, with is fucking letter bullshit, sure spirit cant spell their name, and yet after the name part they can clearly say full sentences!! that alone should ring a bell

@Dave8972 I saw Sylvia Browne at Barnes and Nobles bookstore years ago. The place was packed. She did many accurate readings and helped alot of people. I read her books as well as James Van Praagh. I'm a skeptical person by nature but I keep an open mind about the spiritual world. I find their books insightful.
