  • saw this last night in London at the National Theatre. I was totally blown away. amazing show.

  • @babaoriginal It's a broadway show not a Fela biopic!! Seriously lighten up!! They adapted for the broadway scene so obviously they don't want to make it exactly like him because no one can be exactly like Fela. It's only inspired by his work so it's not about being the best imitation it's about taking something he did and making it you're while paying tribute to his amazing music. It would be boring if they just did a complete imitation. They have to tell his story but in a unique way.

  • @sam30317 I know! That was probably the best sax playing miming I've ever seen. Oh, and the dancing throughout the show was amazing!

  • Saw this in July last year. My goodness, it was AMAZING!

  • Now I can sit through this type of Musical!!!

  • My thoughts: "Oooh, they can dance....wait, did she...are they....ahh, they just flipped...whats going on??!" "I wonder if this music is live.....whaaaaaaa!??!!??!?! He's playing the sax now?!!?" Mind...is...blown...

  • dancing to this @ my skool

  • Wow the guy with no shirt looks hot!!! Yummy eye candy lol

  • Those two Zombies that disliked can go die. Fela and NAIJA for life!

  • @bolder2009 No need to be snipey with me!I think you're projecting other people's comments on myself. I've given my honest to goodness opinion of the musical and no i'm not expecting a factual representation. I've seen broadway shows before, i've even seen books, movies etc made to broadway shows that stays true to the spirit (if not letter) of the character/message etc. I'm also not discounting the effort the producers/actors have put into the play. But I still don't like it. Get over yourself!

  • @Bonitaymorena I agree. I don't hear his son, Femi, complaining about it. I don't get why some people can't appreciate the effort made to bring the life and music of Fela to a wider audience. Its not like anyone in his own country has made a movie about his life. This musical production was aimed at a Broadway audience! It works for a Broadway/theatre going audience.
