On the day of Pentecost, Peter had the spiritual discernment to recognize that what was taking place was more than ecstatic manifestations or paranormal phenomena. He had the prophetic sensitivity to see beyond the wind, the fire, the tongues and the ecstasy - realizing the eternal significance of that Pentecostal outpouring. "This is that", he said, "Which was spoken by the prophet Joel".

We are living now in the greatest days of Holy Spirit outpouring the world has ever known. These are more than good meetings. These are more than ecstatic manifestations and supernatural phenomena. May God give us the spiritual perception to recognize as Peter did that, "This is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel - in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit" - (Acts 2:16-18).
