My dad got one when he was 17 from a Sears and Roebuck catalog, he's now 60.
I love this guitar so much.

@stratocasterfranck Why?

@johnhguitar Too bad guitar companies are not about what consumers like...

@johnhguitar remember when you had to sell a guit in order to have another one... all the pride you had when playing your made in usa Fender or Gibby... the real deal!!

Hey John, was thinking of one of these 6120 or 6119 Tennessee Rose, or even the 6118 Anniversary models , have yet to try, I really love the bright sparkly tones of Filtertrons and appreciate your description of how to use those unique tone/volume controls. One concern I have is the different type of necks on these 6120 / 6119 / 6118 models , and if possible to use tonally for straight jazz stuff - as compared to a ES 175 - you think its possible to get that jazz tone on a Gretsch ? Thanks !

George Van Eps used a Gretsch and he had great jazz tone. I think using heavy flatwound strings makes any guitar sound jazzy. 56 to 13s. Good luck with it.

The choice is yours. Both companies make good instruments. Pick the one that feels right after playing it.
Good luck.
