The English version is a very beautiful translation.

This is a stunner and it is nice to see a singer who can appear as the lovely and petite Natasha.

Hard to realize just how big these opera stars are. I met Thomas Hampson through a friend and I am a little over 6 ft tall. He is taller than me and looks like a big football player. What a chest!! You see him on stage and he looks bit but in person he has a huge set of shoulders and chest. I think Nathan is probably a smaller version of the same except nathan is even hunkier.

This opera is DEFINITELY Prokofiev's masterpiece! Very few operas can radiate such starkly realistic emotions and characters is no small feat!

Haha! My thoughts EXACTLY! She raises her hand and my mind goes, "Whaaa...???!!" I love Nathan Gunn, and I'm glad to be finally finding more clips of him!

Stunning production, lovely music (gotta love Prokoviev), and NATHAN GUNN... wow, does he look fine in a uniform! And he sounds absolutely gorgeous... I would NOT put my hand up if a man who can waltz and sing like THAT at the same time was about to kiss me!
(And, I have to gloat... I love the French language! It's so nice to be able to read the subtitles and understand what's going on, even when they're singing in Russian!)

Hmmm... nothing spectacular.... technically PERFECT...purity of tone...inflections most perceptible.... yeah... nothing spectacular. He's up an coming and for my taste...quite exquisite. (sorry if this is duplicate)

Amazing that this whole scene was an afterthought demanded by the Cultural Secretary after Prokofiev had completed the opera....
The waltz, and its return in the scene of Andrei's death, are the heart of the opera now.
