Btw......to take the bible as a "proof" of anything, is like you take the words of kings for proof. The bible may contain truth, but it has certainly been edited a lot overtime, including mistranslations (important ones as well) and so on.
Is it common sense to believe the bible holds truth from end to other?

That part you quoted could as well have been edited, but that thought is most likely uncomprenhensible to you.
PS. I do believe that we should be good people, but I don't believe we need a THREAT to be good. A good guy would not threat me to believe in him. If god is threatening me to worship him, he is not good in my oppinion, and therefore do NOT deserve worship.
You should be grateful that since he's already in Heaven, he wants us there with him. It's no different than a job, where we have rules to follow, and if we don't follow the rules-then we're out.
GOD gives everyone free will, so you choose to do whatever, notice how GOD hasn't ended your life yet?
