Members of the Beckwourth Outdoors rode the historic Georgetown Loop Railroad on Sunday, November 21st, 2010. The original railroad built in the 1870's - 1880's to connected the silver mines in Georgetown and Sivler Plume, Colorado to the mills and smelters further down the mountain and finally the support operations in the Denver area. Later in 1959, the Colorado Historical Society obtains 100 acres of land which is the start of a long process to reconstructed the 3 plus miles of narrow gauge railroad track, bridges, cuts and trestle between Georgetown and Silver Plume.
