Champ presentation!

Pah! Amazing!

This video is champ! I wish I could see the interpreter as well. Thanks for sharing this.

Enjoyed the video, but the impact would have been greater, if Dr Joseph Valente signed AND spoke!

@SoonieHI and @Jonrobrt --- I too was disappointed to learn that the terp was in the dark. While on stage, the lights were really bright so I had no idea this was happening. It wasn't until I saw the video afterward that I learned the folks doing the lighting and camera work had the terp in the dark. I hope to have an ASL version of this talk available soon. If you are interested in seeing the video when it comes out, please follow me on Twitter @JMValente2 or Facebook. ---Joe Valente

I agree with Jonrobrt. The interpreter is in a very dark place.

This is a powerful and factual message, thank you for publishing the video. Still, I have one observation: I can't see the interpreter! Now, I know the video was captioned, but there is no light on the interpreter. How were Deaf members of this audience able to see him??

Deaf Politics are in the hands of the hearing politicans. Its more like tough luck than good luck. Maybe why Beethoven made up this song.."I wish I wish.. and thats for us Deafies.. all the" Good Luck". Depending on hearing people to do things for you is kind of contradictory.. Hearng politicans are not of the Deaf world, but so out of it. They are not visual people like us.. anyway. Not many Deaf are Deaf Centered as Harlan Lane, Paddy Ladd, and Joesph Valentine. If we ain't.. all are doomed..

Kudos!
Hi Dr. Valente...I was MORE than thrilled to see this video, you said it beautifully for us, the Deaf community...I was like wow...wow! Your video should be distributed to every colleges/universities that has programs for teachers who majors in Deaf Educations/Special Needs. I've seen some students being put into special needs classrooms when they shouldn't be in it. Truthfully, many parents leave the problems to schools to teach, parents are also responsible to teach, too. Awesome job!
