Biking in Amsterdam is as natural as walking, while in Paris, the world's biggest public bicycle system has proved that shared transportation works. Excerpts from a 50 min. film that shows the bicycle revolution getting underway in six cities.

  • Yah, there is a problem with vandalism and theft, just as they are a problem with all public transit. Because buses and subway (Metro) cars have to have graffiti cleaned and broken seats and windows fixed constantly, at great cost, does that mean they are a failure? Maintenance is to be expected. Maybe Velib's problems are considered news because we also expect better treatment of something as innocent as the poor old bicycle.

  • Excellent clip, will be looking out for this film.

  • Interesting. What I'd heard about the Velib program elsewhere was far more negative (focusing on the costs of vandalism and theft).

  • Nice Video!!!
