People seriously stop knocking poor Prima.
She is an awesome vocaloid and sings well in any language you just have to take into accord she was meant for latin based languages.

also take into account that the English vocaloids came before the japanese ones so the advancing technologies play a part of making them sounds more naturally human-ish

The reason why is because there is likely much less work when it comes to tweaking the audio. Japanese has the vowel pronunciations everywhere (except the long o) and the accent of every syllable is the same regardless of its position in a word. Most other languages do not have this, especially the romance languages. Therefore, finding the right pronunciation and proper tweaking is much harder.
