This is a piece that I've played before in church and whatnot, so I thought I would put my rendition up here:)

  • you're not correct in tempo

  • What is the tempo supposed to be then? This is played at the speed indicated on the sheet music that I have. It seems that the general consensus is that I'm playing it too quickly. The odd thing is, is when I have heard this played live by a professional, they play it MUCH quicker than this, like about dotted quarter at 50. As for the tempo not being consistent, I'm just trying to follow the backing as best I can, as it changes tempo throughout, even though I tried to remove those tempo changes.

  • yes, the tempo of sicilienne is much faster. Try to play it on your own or with a pianist and don't depend on the computer, trying to keep up with it. You will be improved and feel the passion that's within the piece. Good luck!!!

p.s.. Sorry if I sounded hursh on my first comment...I didn;t mean to offend you, just to help you become better musician!

  • I wasn't offended, I honestly didn't know:) I'll put up another rendition of it with the different tempo when I get a moment, see how it works out:)

  • Trying to respond, but having difficulty. What is the tempo supposed to be? I'm playing it at the tempo indicated on the music. As for changes in tempo, I'm trying to follow the accompaniment, as it has tempo changes all over the place in it. I tried to remove them with my music software, but it seems as though I couldn't fully remove them, and I had a hard time following.

  • Hi good playing! where did you get the backing track as i cannot find it any where

  • I downloaded the MIDI file off of the internet. The accompaniment is well arranged, but for some reason, there are tempo changes in it. I even went through it with a composition program and removed all of the tempo changes that appeared, but it sounds like I didn't remove them really, because this accompaniment was hard to follow. Thank you for the compliment:)

ignore all these tempo freaks - they don't know what they're talking about, there is no one single best tempo

  • I played this for a festival.
