Michael Birthday, part 3 of 5

Michael's 2nd Birthday continued....

Zoo-zoo-zoo!
Okay, I admit, I took him to the zoo once, or twice. In any case, I'm really thankful that I got the gifts right. Usually, they say the kids like to play with the wrappings more than the toy, but I spent a lot of money on the toys, so I'm glad he actually likes the toys more than the wrappings.

So, Michael likes rocks. But, I guess the grey plastic toy-rocks didn't really look like the "real" rocks to Michael at first. So he tosses them -- but once he realizes that they're rocks, suddenly, they become important (yea, now he wants them). Okay, so does that mean that Michael likes the rock itself, or what it represents? And, what is it with the fascination with ROCKS? I mean, they're little gray or brown BLOBS usually, right? And, they're all over the place -- very common to find, nothing special. And, not to mention, they're DIRTY. As a girly girl, naturally I don't get it. It's more like a, "you just have to accept it the way it is" kind of thing.

FYI: In Michael-language, "ten" means "all". He's only 2, so you have to give him a little leeway with these things -- it's not that he's dumb or anything (I know you're going, "well, at least he can count to three...." and you're so sweet to be so nice). So, there's "three" rocks, but there's also "ten" of them -- like, when you have "ten" fingers, your hands are "complete."

"They're a dime a dozen."
"Rock is cheap."
"They all look the same to me."
"Stop, rock, and roll." (ok, that last one was so lame. sorry)
