Earth Wind for Hire have been privileged to perform with many of the 70s disco legends who originally
inspired the creation of the band, they include: Heatwave, Odyssey, Rose Royce, Shalamar, the Real
Thing, Candy Staton, George McRae, Imagination and even Boney M.
A BBC Radio 2 series was recently named after the band
The band appeared at Glastonbury 2004, the first ever tribute performers asked to perform at the UKs
top music event
Earth Wind for Hire were named by Chris Moyles on his breakfast show on Radio 1 as the best named
tribute band ever.
Earth Wind for hire performed at the premier of Saturday Night Fever the London stage show, and were
mentioned in NOW Magazine for this performance
Earth Wind For Hire started as the band from the show Dont Walk ... Boogie! a production in Londons
west end.
They went on from there to become the best and most well-known performers of this genre
around.
The group is a colourful 9-piece outfit, who encapsulate, through unique performances, those classic
soul, funk and disco sounds from the 1970s. Our funky vocalists are supported by an awesome band
performing a nonstop, back-to-back, floor-stomping, roof-raising show (with either a one hour or 2 x 45
minutes sets).
The amazing show includes tributes to artistes such as Stevie Wonder and Michael
Jackson, and all those dance floor giants such as Chic, Sister Sledge, Kool and the Gang, Rose Royce
and of course Earth Wind And Fire.
The look is funky, vibrant and sometimes wacky, with costume changes by the performers throughout the show to tribute the specific artistes they are representing.
nice!
