After almost 20 years on 99.9 KEZ as the "Bill" half of the highly successful radio team Beth & Bill, Bill Austin announced his retirement on Thursday morning Feb 25, 2010. Bill plans to see the world and "spend some of that money!" Bill's career spans some 40 years in TV & radio, starting as a teenager in the media hotbed of Roswell, New Mexico. Stops along the way included Amarillo, Austin, Green Bay, and Los Angeles. Visit the KEZ website to see more http://www.kez999.com/pages/bethandbill.html

what a team! Beth with her dinger and Bill with his signature voice and laugh. I couldn't drive to work without you both. I was in shock to hear the news about Bill's passing. He will be greatly missed on your show. It was a part of my life. I feel for Beth so much. A part of her life is now a cherished memory. How lucky to have so many memories with such a great guy. RIP Bill.

I never saw him at twelve but I remember his cooking show with Beth and it was always a very funny show and when they used to do Good Morning Arizona for years and years. Valley radio lost a great voice.

@ohNOWwhat I met Bill twice over the years and listened to the show only a few times...Even on me, it had the same effect. He was a good man.

When I found out, I cried. Even though it's someone I never met personally, after spending the last 14 years with Beth and Bill every morning, it almost feels as if I've lost a good friend. His humor will be missed. And, as Beth stated this morning, "In true Bill fashion, he signed off at exactly 10 a.m."
