Video stabilization test combining Warp Stabilizer in AE and DP created jimmy rig. Our rider is Julie Marcelle with RM Paints, www.rmpainthorses.com of Roy, WA riding Cuervo; one of the horses which will be used in the film. There are actually 3 stabilizers working here - camera, truck jimmy, and AE software. The Sony HD CX550 has been rated exceptional for its stabilization and may be substantially better than the RED professional cameras we will film with. However since the RED weighs significantly more, it will interact better with the truck jimmy's gimbal configuration. We will be adding a fluid head to mount on the truck jimmy to yield better angle shooting. The Warp Stabilizer in AE cropped out 80% of the first half of the shot as it was faster and very jagged, whereas the second half needed to be cropped only 17.5%. The Warp Stabilizer also seems to work best in the Position, Scale, Rotation mode for this shot, rather than Subspace or Perspective mode. Subspace and the Perspective appear to yield a 'canvas stretching' effect with their mirrored edge application.
