Here are a few clips and pics from a couple of trips to the SERM in Duluth, GA. This is actually only a couple miles from my house and an awesome place to visit. http://www.srmduluth.org They have three seperate buildings (only two are accessible to the public, the third is their workshop. These photos are from 5-16-09 (the cloudy pics) and the rest are from back in November 08.

There is still a LOT of stuff that I did not capture, but will try and put up at some point in the future - they have old buses, passenger cars, an HO layout, old steam powered tractors (Case, etc), and tons of other great stuff. My train hobby shop is right across the street (http://trainmastermodels.com/).

The train station they actually moved there several months ago from right next to my neighborhood (about a three mile move). I am upset that I missed the big move, but you can see pics on the museum's website.

You will also notice a couple of diesel engines are there in some pics and missing in others - they constantly rotate what is on display, so it's always fun to visit.

Hope you enjoy!

  • Thank's for the video. I use to work at Stone Mountain park. I cannot tell how many trips around the mountain I made with the general II thanks Randall

  • I am glad you enjoyed it! I wish I knew a lot more about what I was looking at when making this video - next time I'll have to take some literature with me....

  • In April, June, and October, TVRM is going to run the Summerville Steam Special. It will be the last time #610 will be going to Summerville before it's overhaul. The consist most likely will be Southern Open Air Car #1000, Central of Georgia (Southern) Coach #907, Detroit and Mackinac Grill/ Table Coach #873, Dining Car #3158, the "Traveller's Fare", the Southern Pacific Open Heavyweight 12 Section Sleeper "Clover Colony", featured in the Movie "Some Like it Hot", and the Observation "Eden Isle"

  • I haven't been to the TVRM since the 80's - Is there a best time of year to swing out there? Any special engines or cars running anytime soon that would make it worth the trip from Atlanta?

  • Thank you!! I love learning about this stuff, so any additional information you have would be greatly appreciated!

  • Not an F7! Thats Southern E8 #6901

  • sweet! i should make a vid of my jeep sometime.

  • Yeah, I love it. I have owned two CJ7's prior to this Jeep, and once I have this one paid off will probably start looking for another project CJ or wrangler to turn wrenches on.

  • o coool! my parents own a jeep its cool! 4x4!

  • Yeah, it's a really neat place - I didn't even show a quarter of what this place has. As for the car, it's a Jeep Grand Cherokee - you can see where I threw a flowmaster on it in one of my early videos...
