Now don't go throwing around false backstories to fellow fans. The Squad Isshin is from has yet to be revealed, and if anything, it would be 10th Squad(which more or less connects with the time period he's involved in). Zaraki killed his Captain, and took his haori. That, aswell as the fact that multiple Shinigami have mentioned Zaraki killed him, proves without a doubt that Isshin isn't connected to the 11th Division in any way.

Isshin would win a straight up fight if Ichigo weren't a Vaizard but with Ichigo having hit the Vaizard Stage2 already, and easily dispatching Ulquorria, I very much disbelieve that notion. Isshin is VERY sharp and keen, but Ichigo is nothing but a well of raw unfathomable power.

@guitarkiller Squad 10 seems likely. It was stated by Unohana that the previous captain before Hitsugaya was killed in action. This might just be a trick from Isshin, but no confirmation yet. I, for awhile, believed him to be the captain before Yoruichi in squad 2, just based on his looks and overall style of fighting. But, it's hard to say for certain which he is with. Only time will tell. Be interesting to know his backstory.

@bursky09 Also, raw power does say something. Look at the Aizen fight between Ichigo and Aizen after he completed Zangetsu's training in the Dangai Precipice World. That wasn't a fight, that was a slaughter, if Aizen didn't have massive regeneration capabilities he would've been turned to dust. IMHO of course...

@bursky09 You do bring up a good point... but the fact that Aizen couldn't be stopped by Isshin but rather by Ichigo that in itself says something... but then again if I had just regained my powers I wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize that either, "Ichigo, you're the only one strong enough to beat AIZEN! What? Me fight him?! And me lose my pow... oh, look, you need to train some more, now get back in there and learn Zangetsu's power! *WHEW* close one..." =P

@llamafucker but pure power is not enough in a real battle though, and beside we havent seen isshin's full power , shikai and bankai.
