MCN Roadtest: AC Schnitzer F800 GS

German tuning company AC Schnitzer has developed an excellent reputation for producing some stunning aftermarket accessories for all manner of BMW motorcycles.

Most recently it has turned its attentions to that stunning workhorse the BMW F800GS. But rather than simply adding on choice bits and pieces, this time it has developed a complete new model: an G800GS supermoto.

Replacing the off-road biased skinny wheels with wide 17-inch wire-spoked wheels has allowed a greater choice of sports rubber to be used, and turned the F800GS into a razor sharp back roads scratcher while retaining the ABS system. Add on one of the company's tried and trusted exhaust systems and race-spec air filter to up the rear wheel output, and bolt on a WP Suspension rear shock to run with WP modified front forks, and the end result is a bike even the Germans can have fun with.

yeah thats my hometown :)

i always hated those kind of bikes because they look so stupid. but today i made a testride with this f 800 gs and iam so incredibly convinced. it's so damn cool and fun to ride those things. the high seat reminds me of horseriding although i never rode on a horse ^^

whatever.. i even start to like the design of this bike i always hated so much.. crazy things happen sometimes :D

you cannot test a wouldbe fun bike on such a wet and supposedly slippery road surface... sure it is a meaningless experience

you can ride faster also under such conditions, of course, but is the danger worth enough? i don't think so.

Beautiful... never expected to see that on a F800GS. But it probably costs as much as a 1200GS... and in that price range there are other muscle supermotards... but I would definitely want to ride something as unique and beautiful as this.
