---- "Doubt the Movie" A Priest Falsely Accused of Pedophile Part 3 of 4 ----------------

An excellent portrait of zealous judgmental nun who made up false accusation of a good and loving priest.

MOVIE REVIEW:
Its 1964, St. Nicholas in the Bronx. A vibrant, charismatic priest, Father Flynn (Academy Award® winner Philip Seymour Hoffman), is trying to upend the schools strict customs, which have long been fiercely guarded by Sister Aloysius Beauvier (Academy Award® winner Meryl Streep), the iron-gloved Principal who believes in the power of fear and discipline. The winds of political change are sweeping through the community, and indeed, the school has just accepted its first black student, Donald Miller. But when Sister James (Academy Award® nominee Amy Adams), a hopeful innocent, shares with Sister Aloysius her guilt-inducing suspicion that Father Flynn is paying too much personal attention to Donald, Sister Aloysius sets off on a personal crusade to unearth the truth and to expunge Flynn from the school. Now, without a shard of proof besides her moral certainty, Sister Aloysius locks into a battle of wills with Father Flynn which threatens to tear apart the community with irrevocable consequence.
Academy Award® winning screenwriter John Patrick Shanley (Moonstruck) adapted his own play for the screen and directs Doubt, starring Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Viola Davis.

The film is produced by Scott Rudin and Mark Roybal, with Celia Costas as executive producer.--© Miramax [More]

  • Another sermon where he just blabs an no one even bothers to open the bible and read from the word of God.

  • Try watching the whole Mass and you will see the Holy Mass read the Bible 1st and 2nd reading then the Gospel before the sermon

Also read the whole Chapter of the Revelation and you will see the Mass (that makes heaven and earth closer)

  • I know someone close to me that gossips all the time. It is affecting their business and I am not sure if I should tell them or not.... I hate gossip...

  • Maybe you should email this video using a fake Yahoo email account!

I am sure it will get her/his attention!

  • I loved this movie. Great acting and a great sermon.

  • Indeed!

My anti Catholic friend believed this priest is guilty as charged lol

That's the reason they titled this movie "Doubt" cus it's only a doubt (not sure).

Even the Mother Principal has a guilty feeling and doubtful of his judgmental tactics.

I GUESS ANTI CATHOLICS IS JUST THAT HATRED IS ENGRAVED IN THEIR HEARTS!

  • In every catholic mass, 3 readings are always read from the bible, and the homily or sermon is usually based on the topic from the days readings.

why not attend a catholic mass, you may be pleasantly surprised.

  • Hey!! This is stealing from the Hofetz Haim. He invented this story in his book 150 years ago. It seems Jewish moviemakers still remember something of their heritage besides bashing it... (girsa deyankuta kevan de'all all)

  • This is a great movie...Meryl Streep is of course always fantastic, but Philip Seymour Hoffman is incredible! What a fantastic range on this actor, in my opinion, one of the very best actors of our time.

  • you truyly missed the point of this excellent movie if you think it was about a priest wrongly accused by judgemental nuns. We will never know if the priest is guilty or not. I don´t care if you are catholic or an atheist. The movie is not about that !

  • @junmeskie i love hristianity and im an agnostic but i think the priest had done smthing wrong as when meryl says that she had called his previous church and had found abt her previous infringements , he resigns and quits and in the confrontation scene he is upset that the sis didnt call the pastor but spoke to a nun . had he been innocent , he would given a damn of whom he spoke

well my point only but yeah its a also a doubt !! :)

  • the timing of the sound and the clip is off

  • You can tell Father Flynn was mad at the nuns when he was giving this sermon. It is a very truthful sermon.

  • According to the playwright, he intentionally left the viewer hanging at the end so as to draw their own conclusions on whether or not the accusations are true.
