Starting with a view of our Milky Way galaxy, the orange gas in the animation represents the interstellar medium. The bow shock is created because the heliosphere is moving through like a boat through the water, crashing through the interstellar gases. The bow shock in front of the moving heliosphere is similar to the one observed by the Hubble Space Telescope. Click for animation. Credit: NASA/Walt Feimer

  • omg, so much unconquered and pure planets! I shudder the day that we find a way past the Milky Way...we'd kill everything if we had the chance.

Plus, religion is only customary to our planet. All the prophets and important religious figures were human and the holy lands only existed on this planet. But, if we travel to another planet there is no shred of evidence of ANY of the Earth's religions. It's purely man-made.

  • Heliosphere, wow!

  • its to short no sound

  • beautiful, a whole universe out there for us to explore, we shouldn't be stuck here alone, we have the potential for greatness.

  • SPACEFLIGHT AND RELIGION:

"The 18-page guidebook is titled "Guidelines for Performing Islamic Rites (Ibadah) at the International Space Station", and details issues such as how to pray in a low-gravity environment, how to locate Mecca from the ISS, how to determine prayer times, and issues surrounding fasting. The orbit of the ISS results in one day/night cycle every 90 minutes,[1][28] so the issues of fasting during Ramadan are also addressed. "

  • SPACEFLIGHT AND RELIGION:

"Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor is a Muslim, and as his time in space coincided with the last part of Ramadan, the Islamic National Fatwa Council drew up the first comprehensive guidebook for Muslims in space.[1][3]

  • @wjfox2006

there is not God. It's something of your dream

  • @wjfox2006 I know I've never said atheism is a religion, Its still a belief that there is no god. I know I didn't answer your question, and maybe I worded my last statement wrong. No you don't have to respect their beliefs if you don't want to, but blatantly telling them their beliefs are completely a myth is hardly what I call respecting someone. Oh and there is proof of god, I'm no scientists, but PM me if you want any details. There are some good arguments on both side.

  • @SilverfangX777 That doesn't really answer my question. Some people consider Thor or Zeus, or even the Sun and Earth as actual people. These Gods have the same amount of evidence (i.e. none) as the God of Christianity or Islam, or any other religion. Why should I respect that delusion?

I respect PEOPLE - but I don't have to respect their BELIEFS, which are their CHOICE, and based on zero evidence.

And btw, atheism is specifically defined as an *absence* of belief.
