Fram had another commercial that was similarly structured to this one. In it, the actor who got the privilege to say "You can pay me now...or you can pay me later" was Gil Rogers who is well-known among soap opera fans for having played the maniacal supervillain Ray Gardner in All My Children. I'm not sure if this is the Fram commercial you have in mind; this is just my guess.

"You can pay me now...or you can pay me later." Always sounded like a verbal threat to me.

Fuck you fram! You have lied to the people with your paper garbage! Paper/ cardboard filters put little paper contaminants into your customers engines. As an engine re-builer, I have seen just what your oil filters do. Shame on you!

Well I have been using Fram filters since the early 1970's I have used them in ALL my cars..I have NEVER had an engine problem...kept the oil changed at 2000 miles. My old jeep that I have driven 140000 mile since 1991 has had NOTHING but Fram oil and air filters....still going strong,.....still change the Valvoline every 2000 miles...Yup ...the jeep is old,..but runs like a champ!!
