Bensusan's characteristic sustained sound is a feature of the DADGAD tuning. You get more sympathetic vibrations as well as the opportunity for more cross-string fingerings, which allows for more resonance. It also doesn't hurt that the guy is a genius.

Cheers Pascal Nice to know it will serve you in some way. I really struggle at getting the right feel and rhythm for this piece....is so difficult, but nothing of peirre's comes that easy for me.
