Researchers at Warwick University are helping to develop a material which would vastly increase the speed of computing, the material could revolutionise home entertainment.
This is tremendous. Things are really getting exiciting. This probably will have an impact on real virtual reality. I don't hear too much about that lately. Virtual reality will I think need the kind of increase in power that happened when computers went from text based (when Gates said we won't need more than 640K ram) to graphic based with tera byte drives for $100 etc. I remember getting excited when the 1200 baud Hayes modem came out. I now have a fairlly slow 1.5M modem.
Bill Gates never said such a thing. That is an urban legend. Look it up.
