Higher Ground

'Higher Ground' was written by Stevie Wonder and recorded 3 months before near fatal accident, on his way to a concert, that left him in coma. Eventually he recovered and the song appeared in 1973 on his album 'Innervisions'. Politics and religious thoughts --re-incarnation perhaps?-- are the theme of the song.
