in 1866...the lower saxons were a country called hanover that fought against prussia at battle of langensalza in 7 weeks war! (not all germans united pre-1871)....anglo-saxon language unique also/milwaukee

hack plunder (viking era) rarely has engraved writing on it...thank god we can read anglo-saxon runes!...thank the gods an honest man found it and turned over to the archaeologists and not melted it down for the precious metal! 3 cheers and 3 beers to the finder!/milwaukee

Agreed- the provinces of Germany has a hell of a complex history, that us in the UK somewhat do not generally not appreciate.
