They are one of the great rock bands of their generation.

Actually, for a nice, rounded take on everything that they do well, I'd get their last album, "The Argument." It's probably my favorite. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their records.

Do a you tube search for the song "Ex-spectator" and be amazed at the awesome sauce.

well yes, they are extremely progressive and inovative, but amazing above all, one of most influential bends of all time imho.

The album this song is on, Repeater, is probably their most "punk" sounding album. Their most experimental albums are probably Red Medicine and End Hits. In on the Kill Taker is pretty inventive as well but it's also their heaviest/loudest album.

You can't really go wrong with anything they've done though. Their entire discography is excellent.

thanks for the direction. I purchased Repeater last night - it was the only one at Best Buy. When I make it out to Hollywood I will hit a real record store like Amoeba and pick up the others that you recommended. So far Repeater is excellent!

there's a warehouse and fye on hawthorn (the former is at the corner of artesia and hawthorne, the latter is at the corner of sepulveda and hawthorne) both have a vast amount of cds in case you were lookin for a good place in the LA area for cds.
