they are wrong. the asshole didnt fall asleep he tried to jump back on the train but was drug for 80 feet. The movie Unstoppable which is based of this story is fairly accurate on how the train got loose from the yard

To clear some things up. It was not a "Controller" falling asleep, but rather an engineer not properly setting the brakes on the locomotive while lining a switch. Also, not once did they mention the use of a 2nd train that coupled on from the rear and slowed it down to a speed of about 11 MPH. I swear shows will just make anything up to get the entertainment value out of their program...
