Check out this link: http://www.thereadystore.com/?aid=4bbc0e244dbff Great survival supplies at great prices!! I am a affiliate, its a great company to buy from...

Just a short video on my SHTF Air Conditioner (aka The Redneck Air Conditioner)... This consists of a regular fan using only 29 watts of power, a coleman cooler, and a dryer vent. Simply fill the cooler with frozen water bottles, and enjoy 50 degree air conditioning in a small room in your house for about 6 to 8 hours. This thing works great!!!

If you have alternative power (such as solar)... things you worry about is the electrical loads your running. Regular air conditioners use about 900 watts of power. This "Redneck" air conditioner only uses 29 watts of power. Not too shabby!!

  • I wonder if computer exhaust fans would work better with the solar set up IE less drain on the batteries/panels. I love the idea tho! Great stuff man!

  • @mojomedic1 My first design had two large PC Fans, and it didn't work too good... This setup will keep a small bedroom pretty cool.

  • grid goes down ur freezer stops working you've basically lost your cooling. Those frozen bottle's will keep u cool for awhile but i dont see how this would be good when u have no power for weeks. you would end up drinking the water anyways

  • @hastypasty Totally agree, but a short power outage from a isolated storm, this would work great for the first 6 to 8 hours...

  • id personally be keeping that ice in the fridge during a power outage to keep the stuff from spoiling lol

  • @danz409 I usually rotate them out, so I always have frozen water bottles in the fridge...

  • Its funny that I found this video cause I have been using that concept for a long time but I use it in my car with a 12V fan. I am a PI and it works great when you have to sit in a car for hours but you can't run the cars AC.

  • love the Ideal.

  • Nice

  • Hey this is great !!!! Thank you

  • Thanks for the video!

I'm thinking you might want to have a second fan, to push the cooled air out into the room.

By the way: did you hear that the powers that be will do an "experiment" to change the 60 cycle frequency that alternating current runs at? Is there a fix for that? Take care.

  • Thank you sir, I was trying to make one of these. I was going to use a heat exchanger in front of a fan, while using a pump in a cool water cooler to feed the exchanger. But your design is much simpler.

  • this is very cool

  • lmao! that is pretty freakin' genius!

  • Hot damn!

  • Now that is just freaking clever.
