SAUCE KID
Born Babalola Falemi in Lagos State, Nigeria, Sauce KiD completed high school education in Nigeria after which he moved to the United States of America, where he cultivated the habit of rhyming.
In February 2005, he started an independent recording label "Q Beats Entertainment" with his friend Tunji "T Billions" Balogun Jr. In December 2005, Sauce KiD headed out to Nigeria with a video for then hit" Omoge wa jo" which featured legendary AfroPop singer "Mike Okri". This video and song gained him recognition within the African music industry and his effort was crowned with a nomination for the 2006 channel o awards. He didn't win the award, but that didn't deter him as he began making good music and moved back to Nigeria to concentrate on capturing the African music market.
He released Moneylong: "The mix tape for both worlds" and one of the songs on the mix tape titled "Yebariba Samboribobo" (a spin off Remy Ma-conceited, produced by Scott Storch) became an instant hit turning into a national anthem in Nigeria and a street slang commonly used amongst Nigerians.
Sauce kid is no longer a member of Q Beats Entertainment. The Artist and the label parted ways mutually but still maintain a friendly relationship.
In 2009, Sauce Kid signed a record deal with Storm records. He is currently putting final touches to his long awaited debut album.
His growing fans who are endlessly demanding to see more of Sauce Kid. He is also the self acclaimed ambassador of rap music in Africa.
Sauce Kid has worked with the likes of Mike Okri, Banky W, 9ice, Pype, Riz, Ghetto P and DJ Zeez for his forth coming album.
He was a judge at the Kaduna regional finals for the Mnet reality TV show, Naija Sings and opened for R.kelly in South Africa at the ThisDay Music Festival. He also performed at the beat 99.9 Launch Party.
He has released the following singles from his soon to be released album; "Monkey Banana", "I can't feel my face", "Na me be fine boy" and "Diamond". He also shot a video for the single "Na me be fine boy". The video was released in November 2009.
Sauce Kid, this week released the video for the lead single off his forthcoming album.
