After many years of blood-soaked chaos, Uganda now witnesses untold suffering inflicted by maternal mortality. Deemed the most neglected health issue in the world, over 150 women die unnecessarily each week as a result of childbirth-related complications. Due to resource scarcity, health professionals find themselves frustrated and powerless to help dying mothers. In more remote areas where transportation to a medical center is impossible, charlatans dispense medical advice for a price that many cannot afford. As a result, the death rate is rising, taking lives. In developed nations such as Canada, maternal mortality is of no consequence.
Perhaps birth control, sterlization might be
a solution.
