Rancilio Silvia First Day Issues

This is my new Rancilio Silvia Espresso Machine. I'm having an issue with not enough water coming through the filter.

UPDATE : All my issues are resolved. My first day issues were a little bit complicated.

1. The first issue was there was a kink in the hose that takes the water into the boiler. I had to take the machine apart to discover this.
2. The second issue I had was when I was trying to froth. Barely any steam would come out. I had to take the nozzle off, and discovered there was a small piece of electric copper wire stuck in the nozzle.

From that moment on, everything has been beautiful.

is the machine on a tilt as its filling one glass quicker

the machine is fine, the counter is tilted about 1 degree, just enough to make 1 shot fill up faster than the other.

yeah, the glasses should be equally full. i ordered a silvia a few days ago...hope i don't have problems when it arrives.

Actually I had a serious problem with the Silvia. The tube that sucks the water had a pinch in it. I discovered this by taking the top cover off. I was very dissappointed with this defect, but I quickly got over it after my first espresso ;-)

are you still happy with this machine, after months of deliberating I've set my sights on this one. Will purchase after xmas.

Might have something to do with you using the single basket in your portafilter

Actually the one shot basket has another use. I've taped the inside of mine and use it as a blind basket for backflushing.

no water? you can toss that 1 shot basket. they are less than useless.
