I tried to cook tapioca in the microwave, and it turned out just like the song. I didn't drop it, but it made an unbelievable sucking noise when I hauled it out of the microwave safe container, to the point I burst out laughing and nearly dropped it. Then I said, it's a good thing I didn't drop it, the durned stuff woulda bounced. After that I sprinted for the mandolin and the song came out all more or less at once. PS My then husband never made the comment about the starving rat.
