  • Great video, thanks for uploading!

  • Thanks. Glad you like.

  • I have some video of 1497 and 1498 somewhere. I must get it edited and posted on to here.

  • I do miss these trains

  • Me too. They had a bit of character, even if they did become tatty in later years.

  • I'm not a big electric / diesel train fan, but i miss these trains. Their sound, their interior etc

i remember as a kid (not to long ago) coming back from london in the dark, head out the window, sparks from other trains.

Modern trains dont quite 'have it'

I also blame health and safety for not allowing slam doors now, because some silly person MIGHT fall out.

  • i could cry forever love loved all emus and dmu slam door only!!! part of my life gone.

  • Sad sad day that was we will miss the and never forget them

  • I loved the slam door Mark 1 emus too, we had them in Manchester too, class 304s and the Manchester-Bury 504s. Grew up with them

  • A sad day. DEsiros have no character at all.

I remember the 4TC units and the 8VAB in the 1970's - WOW!

  • such a shame i miss those trainz

  • The third side of the triangle was taken out of use following the closure of Bournemouth West station and the completion of the Bournemouth electrification scheme in 1966/67.

  • Thanks for the comment.

The train at Branksome was reversing and taking the route into Bournemouth depot.
